National African & Black Association (NABA) – Dundee Chapter
Thanks to everyone who came out today to show solidarity during the vigil organised by Dundee citizens of African origin. It was a deeply moving event, and we recognise the strong emotions and concerns regarding to the unprovoked death of Dr Fortune Gomo and the wider community concern about safety within the community of Dundee.
The National African & Black Association (NABA) was present to offer support and reassurance to the African and Black community in Dundee. During the gathering at the City Centre, the CEO of NABA addressed attendees, encouraging all to focus their support on the bereaved family. He also extended an invitation to mourners and community leaders to attend a meeting with Police Scotland to discuss community concerns.
Following the vigil, over ten community leaders’ members and representatives participated in a meeting held at the Well Bell Street Police Scotland station. The meeting was attended by senior members of Police Scotland, including Assistant Chief Constable Emma Bond.
